Challenge Course Elements

Are you ready for a challenge?

Brethren Woods hosts groups year round on our low and high ropes challenge courses. Sessions are run by our professionally trained staff. Sessions focus on leadership skills, challenge by choice, communication skills, and team-building. Heading to the ropes course with your school group, youth group, Sunday school class, or scout troop is a great bonding activity!

Low Ropes Course

The Low Ropes Cooperation Course is a series of field and ground level events designed to work at team and group building skills as well as developing leadership, trust, and cooperation. Trained facilitators will lead each group and tailor the experience to the goals of the group leaders. Elements may include a spider’s web, nitro crossing, mohawk walk, rebirth tire, wall, waterwheel, island crossing, and the tension traverse. Participants must have completed 3rd grade to participate on the elements in the woods. If your group has younger children in them, we can organize Cooperation Field Games with them. Minimum group size is 6 and groups of 20 or more will be divided into smaller groups. Minimum charge per group is for 10 participants.

High Ropes Challenge Course

High Ropes and Zipline
The High Ropes Challenge Course contains a series of elements and platforms about 35 feet up on poles. Participants are secured to a special safety harness and carefully supervised by trained facilitators throughout the experience. The majority of belay systems are static, meaning participants are secured to an overhead cable. Each experience includes an orientation to the equipment, methods for doing the events, and a safety briefing. Basic events include the postman’s walk, eagle walk, heebie-jeebie, multi-vine, catwalk, and zip line!  Minimum group size is 6 and groups of 20 or more will be divided into smaller groups. Minimum charge per group is for 10 participants. Groups must participate in a Low Ropes experience prior to doing high ropes.

Climbing Tower and Climbing Elements
A Climbing Wall with three side of varying degrees of difficulty (Easy, Hard, Vertical Playpen) is attached to the high ropes course. Participants are secured in harnesses and attached to a dynamic belay system. Climbing Elements include: Dangle-Duo (done in pairs) and Jacob's ladder. The climbing elements can be added to the climbing tower or be done as a stand alone element.
