Join your friends at Brethren Woods for our 27th Annual Golf Blast& Elzie Morris Golf Tournament. The date is set for Saturday, September 10, and we will meet at Lakeview Golf Course (near Harrisonburg, VA) at 7:30 a.m. Our first hour together will be a putting contest hitting a few balls, and the opportunity to buy mulligans, gimme strings, throws and red tees. The shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m.
The cost to play is $85 per person (remember... it’s a fund-raiser!) which includes green fees, riding cart, prizes, and meal. There will be a $8 fee for those persons who just want to attend the meal. You may enter as an individual and be assigned to a team, or you may recruit a foursome. We will have several flights of golfers depending on handicaps or average scores. Be sure to fill in the handicap information on the reverse side of the flyer
We are also recruiting tournament sponsors that will get an advertising tee box sign and more. The tournament sponsorships are $100.00, $500.00 and $1,000.00. (See separate sheet for sponsor benefits.) If you want to sponsor the tournament, for your business or individually, sign up today. If you know of others who would support this event, please pass this information on to them.
Help us to advertise this event and get your friends excited about GOLF BLAST! It’s going to be lots of fun. We’re also planning prizes for the the longest drive, closest-to-pin, and putting contests. It’s sure to be an exciting day. Make plans now to be a tournament sponsor and/or golf
The format will be a best ball scramble which means that each player hits the ball, selects the best shot of the four, and all players hit from that spot through the green. Winning team is based on the lowest score in their flight. Ties will be broken by counting low scores backwards from 18th hole. Other rules will be explained at the tournament.
Prizes: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on the lowest scores in each flight, as well as longest drive, closest-to-the-pin, and putting contest. Ties will be broken by counting low scores backwards from the 18th hole.
