Adventure Days

Join our program director for some Saturday fun on the river by signing up for one of our adventure days!

Please contact us at camp@brethrenwoods.org or 540-269-2741, if you have any questions!

Come join us for a fun and educational day in the woods! Our guide for the day is Doug Ruby, an experienced birder who has led retreats at Brethren camps all along the East Coast.

We'll kick things off at 7:30 AM in the Leadership Center Basement with coffee, donuts, and good company before heading out to explore camp. Be sure to bring your own lunch—we’ll take a break to eat, then either continue exploring camp or drive to a new habitat to spot even more birds!

Important Details:

  • Cost per person is just $20
  • Participants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Registration is required and opens today! Spots are limited to 12 participants so we don’t spook the birds.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Tubing | Usually at the end of June

Join us for a fun adventure of tubing on the Shenandoah River! Participants will gather at 9:30am and then head down the river! Brethren Woods staff, including a certified lifeguard, will provide a brief orientation to tubing and safety on the river.  Then the group will float together down a stretch of river from Power Dam to Island Ford. We'll return to the church about 12:00pm to head home.

Cost is $20 and includes a transportation, certified leadership, tube, life jacket, and gear.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a great event for the whole family!
