No. Brethren Woods operates on the idea of age progression and introducing life at camp to children at their age specific comfort level. Day camp, for children in K-2nd Grade, is a child’s first introduction to camp. They have the opportunity to enjoy all the fun that is camp, without the stress of being away from home and family overnight.
Day camp overnight is an introduction to camp’s evening activities and sleeping at camp with the comfort of mom or dad (or both), or other family member being right there. Therefore, it is necessary for a parent, grandparent or other person significant in the child’s life to be there with him/her for this important introduction to camp life.
A positive experience at Day camp and Day camp overnight can set the stage for a child to enjoy camp for years to come.
